The event was organised as an introductory activity for the Health Fayre which has been taking place this week in the school to give pupils information about how to improve their health and provide activities to get them active.

Lovely sunny weather made the Sports Relief sponsored walk around the perimeter of Carnoustie High School a joy. Our picture shows some of those taking part.
The walk started with a group warm up by all first, second and third-year pupils and staff taking part and then the pupils walked in Houses on the cross-country course around the school.
Starter for the walk was local businesswoman and sports personality, Liz McColgan, and the money raised will go to the charity Sports Relief.
Pupils were encouraged to dress up as a sports person with prizes for the best outfits. There were several humorous staff outfits such as a rugby playing fairy and sumo wrestlers.
The school was grateful for the support of the Co-op who donated fruit for the pupils to eat after the walk and to Strathmore Water and Highland Springs who both donated water for the pupils during the event.
The money should be handed in by pupils over the next week and the total will be announced as soon as possible.

DISPLAY: Technical department had set up a display this week featuring the items made by pupils as part of their assessment for SQA courses. The items were on display for staff, pupils and members of staff from other schools to see the high standard the pupils achieved.
COLLEGE COURSE: A group of 14 third-year pupils attended Angus College this week on a health and safety course in preparation for their work experience next week.
The school spends a great deal of time and effort making sure that pupils are properly equipped for their week out, both physically, by equipping them with safety gear such as work boots, but also mentally, by preparing them for the tasks they will be expected to undertake. These can include keeping a record of their activities, setting themselves targets they wish to achieve and dealing with the work situation which will be a very different environment than they are used to.
Pupils have been working in social education with guidance teachers to prepare them for what has always been a very enjoyable and useful experience for of the pupils taking part in previous years.
