South Grange celebrates 30 years of service to the community

Staff and residents enjoyed an afternoon tea and concert to mark the home’s 30th anniversary.

South Grange Care Home in Monifieth marked its 30th anniversary recently with an aftertoon tea party for staff and residents.

They also enjoyed a virtual concert and used the special occasion to welcome new general manager Fiona Torrie.

Hospitality Supervisor Christine Penman was also presented with her 30 years’ long service award.

South Grange has built up excellent reputations within its local communities. The home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and neighbours. The building was originally constructed in 1991 on the site of an old farm, and its former mill – a listed part of the building – is known to residents and staff as the ‘round room’. It is used daily for visitor events and activities.

Fiona said: “It’s important to recognise the hard work of our staff. For the past 30 years, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff. Today not only enables us to celebrate their hard work, but it’s also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have made South Grange such a loving home.”

South Grange is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.
