CARNOUSTIE air cadets welcomed a new group of recruits into their ranks at their annual enrolment and presentation evening.

Six new cadets of 2449 (Carnoustie) Squadron Air Training Corps gave their Cadet Promise to Squadron Padre Rev. Grant MacIntosh.

The other cadets reaffirmed their own promises in the presence of their families and friends.

After the ceremony the Padre presented the cadets with their certificates and training badges. First Class Cadet badges were awarded to Cadets Charlie Wynne and Jack Gates.

Cadet Andrew Young received his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze Certificate and badge, and both he and Cadet Jack McGillivray were presented with Leading Cadets badges and their BTEC Awards in Aviation Studies.

St John’s Youth First Aid Certificates were awarded to Cadets McGillivray and Bella Paterson, while Squadron Sports Participation Certificates were awarded to Cadets Jack Gates, Jack McGillivray, Jamie Spall and Andrew Young.

Following a short refreshment break Cadet McGillivray gave a presentation on the joys of skiing, and his enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport was apparent.
