THIS week’s picture was taken at Arbroath High School by Harold Dickson in 1961 when everyone would have been 16 or 17 years old. Howard Evans, who sent in the photograph, reveals that David Kane, holding the banner on the far left, (now known as John Kane, TV actor, writer and producer) had organised the event. He recalls that in those days, before eastern Monifieth or Carnoustie and Barry had a High School, pupils living in that area who had passed their qualification exams went to Arbroath High School. The names have been set out with a ‘C’ for Carnoustie, ‘A’ for Arbroath, ‘B’ for Barry, and ‘M’ for Monifieth.
