Turn of the century Ireland Street, Carnoustie

Picture of Ireland Street, Carnoustie,

Judging by the dress of the children in the foreground and the horse and cart using unpaved roads this picture of Ireland Street, Carnoustie, was most likely taken at the turn of the 20th century, although very little has changed in the interim.

On the right, the wooden fence and lamp marks the rear end of what is now the Station Hotel.

It is likely that at this time the stables which have since been demolished at the back of the hotel were in still in use.
