Plans are progressing well for the forthcoming ninth annual Auchmithie Heritage Festival with the dress rehersal taking place this weekend
The festival takes place in the village on Saturday, August 31 from 1 to 4.30 p.m.
Ecky Dunder, Maggie Swankie and all of the other historic residents, will re-enact the history of the village out on the streets of Auchmithie itself while at Fountain Square you’ll find the fishwifies doing their washing.
All the usual attraction will be available such as the tea room in the village hall, crafts, fun events for the children, a flower festival in the church and a display of fascinating archive material.
Delicious fish snacks will also be on sale including the famous smokie being prepared fresh from a barrel outside the village hall.
The re- enactment starts at 1 p.m. at the village hall where visitors will be met by ‘Mrs Gilruth’ who will introduce them to the village and characters. Parking is available and entry is free.
