CARNOUSTIE Musical Society celebrates a significant birthday this year - its 100th!
To mark the occasion a commemorative sign has been erected on the wall at their own Comrie Hall, Links Avenue, funded with help from Angus Council.
Society president Kevin Smith is pictured toasting the new sign and the anniversary.
He said: “It is an honour to be the president tasked with taking the Carnoustie Musical Society into its 100th year.
“Initially there was a lot of uncertainty over our year of birth but we have settled on 1912 as the important year. The society has been part of my life for 20 of its 100 years.
“The society and its members have given me a lot of enjoyment and fulfilment over these years and I hope this year my efforts go some way to repaying that. We hope to put on a series of events and ventures this year both for our own members and for the local community.
“Our centenary show, ‘Crazy for You’, is on during the period March 12 to 16. Tickets are available on 01241 852715.”
