£2 million waterfront development

A TALK on the proposed waterfront development in Broughty Ferry was presented to members of Broughty Ferry Community Council at their monthly meeting in the public library.

Dr Colin Smith, of Glamis Consultancy Ltd., spoke about the proposed waterfront visitor and community building to be built into the mound at Castle Green.

He said he was hoping for feedback and views from the community as to what was wanted through a survey. Plans are in the early stages, he stressed, but lifeguard and first aid facilities were put forward by the council for inclusion.

Nicol Russell Architects are to design the building around community needs.

Dr Smith said that the funding target looks to be £1.8 to £2 million.

Mr W. Campbell asked about coach parking as there is none in Broughty Ferry at present.
