FOR THE eighth year in succession, Broughty beach litter is being surveyed by Broughty Ferry Community Council members and willing volunteers with help from the Community Service Order Scheme.
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) organises a survey each year to clean up litter on beaches and survey what is found.

Broughty Ferry Community Council has adopted Broughty Ferry Beach and intends to carry out the survey between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, September 20.

The Beachwatch organiser for the community council, Doug McLaren, said: "We are delighted to be participating once more in this nationwide monitoring of the rubbish that is found on Broughty Ferry Beach."

All volunteers are welcome and if you are interested in participating the party is meeting at 10 am at the Bridge Street end of the beach, opposite the Barnhill Rock Gardens.

Gloves, bags etc., are provided and the organisers would be happy to see you even if you cannot stay for the whole two hours.

For more information, contact Doug McLaren for more details or just turn up.
