CARNOUSTIE GOES INTERNATIONAL IN LATEST FUND-RAISER

CARNOUSTIE High School teacher Jim Bell is organising a concert to raise money for two of his projects.
Enitled 'Carnoustie Goes International', It will held in the school theatre at 7.30 p.m. on Friday, March 26. Tickets cost £5 and are available from Mr Bell.

The concert will feature Dance Mania, the award winning dance group; a duet by Caroline D
ey and Corah Edgar; solos by Rachel Weir, Rosie Brown and Alix Foreman; an American jazz presentation; Irish, Highland, ballet and Indian dance demonstrations; national dances performed by primary school children from the Angus Centre for Performing Arts; Carnoustie High School Senior Choir; pipes and drums; and African drumming by Carnoustie Street Beat.

Mr Bell told the Guide & Gazette: "I am hoping for a sell-out. All profits will be divided between two projects the school has connections with in Brazil and Nepal.

"We want to buy bedding for street children in Brazil and provide equipment for people with disabilities in Nepal.

"We will have two sets of guests with us on the evening. Two of the Scots who are working directly with the street children will be coming along as will the three Americans from our partner school in Missippippi who are on the team I am leading out to Rwanda in June."

Mr Bell also revealed that the concert will also feature some interviews. He explained: "I will be interviewing three Carnoustie students who are going out to work with the project in Brazil, two of the students who are on my Rwanda team and the three Americans."
