STRONG winds blasted the east coast overnight on Tuesday and during Wednesday, but Broughty Ferry, Carnoustie and Monifieth appear to have escaped without too much damage.
No schools were closed and there was no interruption to power or water supplies.
In all three communities the wind sent wheelie bins careering along streets, dispensing the contents en-route and the piles of litter and plastic bags were blown everywhere.
In Monifieth, the unlucky occupant of 1 Church Street searched for the number of his insurance provider after part of the roof of the house blew off taking some slates with it.
And at the same address, a mature rowan tree was blown over in the garden but, fortunately, did no damage.
Close by, the orange plastic guard fencing used by contractors repairing pavements in the burgh took to the air and, once collected, were removed.
In Carnoustie, a tree was blown over in Carlogie Road and one householder in Westhaven Park almost lost a trampoline which had not been properly tethered. It became caught on a clothes pole which prevented it from leaving the garden.
On Chapman Drive, a length of fencing was left askew by the wind and throughout the community the odd slate smashed to the ground here and there.
A spokesman for Tayside Police stated: "From early this morning, we have received a large volume of calls from drivers and other members of the public to report incidents arising from the storm force winds gusting across the region.
"Many trees and branches have fallen across roadways throughout the force area, although most have been quickly cleared from the carriageways by roads departments and roads re-opened.
