1ST CARNOUSTIE A Pack Cubs and Beavers were out planting young trees in Carnoustie on Saturday at the top of McNicoll's Brae at the west side of the High School playing fields.
Thirty trees of various species were donated to the Scout Group by the Woodland Trust and they called upon the assistance of Angus Council's tree officer, Frank Conacher, to find a suitable spot and to show the boys how to plant the trees.

With the aid of Pete Lunan from Monikie Country Park Ranger Service, the cubs and beavers learned about the trees they were planting.

Trees were planted to infill an existing hedgerow and to swell an existing copse of young trees.
