The exhibition, organised by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) in partnership with the Glasgow School of Art, showcases some of the exceptional design assignments submitted for the 2009 Intermediate 2 product design course.
As part of
the course assessment, SQA issues a different design assignment task each year. In 2009, the centenary year for the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Building, the candidates were asked to design street furniture for the area surrounding the iconic Glasgow School of Art building.
Dale's work is one of the 10 designs on display in the exhibition and was among the very best submitted.
Dale (17) designed a litter bin which would be made of polyurethane and which would be colourful, strong, durable and cleanable. He said he enjoys being able to develop his ideas from a design specification.
Dale is currently studying higher product design and hopes to study business or design at university.

SQA chief executive, Dr Janet Brown, said: "The creativity of our young designers is amazing. I'd like to congratulate them and thank their families and teachers for their dedication and support.
"There really could be nowhere else to display their work but the Glasgow School of Art, and I'm delighted at the enthusiastic support we have received from the School and its staff."
The exhibition opened last Wednesday and will run until Tuesday, March 9. Schools and colleges visiting the event can book tours of the Mackintosh building at a discounted price.
