LOCAL GROUPS BENEFIT FROM GALA CASH BONANZA

A LARGE number of local organisations were given a cash boost on Friday in the shape of cheques from the Carnoustie Gala Committee.

Just over £4,000 was handed out at the Royal British Legion Scotland clubrooms, being the profits from this year's Carnoustie Gala.

The full list of donations made by the Gala Committee comprised:

Carnoustie and District Pipe Band - £1,000.

Carnoustie Community Helpline, Carnoustie Panmure Black Watch ACE, 1st Carnoustie Boys' Brigade, Arbroath British Legion Pipe Band, Carnoustie and District Guide Hall Fund, Carnoustie Coastguards and the Carnoustie branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland - £200.

Carnoustie High School 5th Year, 1st Carnoustie Beavers, Brass Bandits, Carlogie Fun Club, Carnoustie A Pack Cub Scouts, Carnoustie Photo Club, Carnoustie Panmure Boys' Club, Kinloch Kids' Club, RNLI, Macmillan Support Group, Rebecca Cottage (Scottish Spina Bifida Association), Order of St John (Angus and Dundee area), St Andrew's Ambulance, Dance Mania and Carnoustie Musical Society - £100.

Carnoustie and District Crime Prevention, Carnoustie Recorded Music Society, Carnoustie Over-60s Club, Panmure Playgroup and Relay for Life - £50.
