Mr Wilmott played an active role in the Guide & Gazette's campaign to have major improvements made to the road lay-out at the notorious double bend.
He paid tribute to Angus Council's continued policy of improving the safety of the area and added: "It is a welcome and sensible approach for the benefit and convenience of bus passengers and motorists alike."
