A NUMBER of nominations have been received for Carnoustie's Citizen of the Year Award, but none so far for the Junior Citizen Award.
Chairman of Carnoustie Community Council Sue McMahon told the Guide & Gazette: "I would like to mention that just because a person has been nominated before and wasn't successful, this doesn't mean they can't be nominated again."

The Junior Citizen of the Year Award is presented each year to a youngster for sporting or other outstanding achievements, service to the community or for showing bravery in the face of extreme misfortune or illness. The Citizen of the Year award is given for the same criteria.

If you wish to nominate someone for either of these awards, they need to be persons living in the Carnoustie area. Please send your nomination to Mrs Sue McMahon, 2 Seabraes, Carnoustie DD7 6AY. The closing date is next Friday, May 16.
