The record to be broken was for the largest amount of kilted skiers to ski a line continuously down a piste at one time.
A total of 235 skiers and boarders braved the cold to be serenaded down the mountain to the sound of the pipes and drums.

llan told us: "The atmosphere on the 2.5 mile journey down the mountain was truly electric, with cheers from hundreds of spectators and ski instructors dancing a reel to the music as they skied."

Thinking of his 12-year-old son, Allan went on: "It made me realise that my childhood was similar but different in some ways to Jack's. Mine was spent within two miles of my home seeking sledging, enjoying tarzan swings or battling down bumpy tracks on my ill-equipped bicycle.
"Jack's world is similar but he will think nothing of using dad's taxi service to extend his pursuits of skiing, mountain biking or outdoor pursuits up to 200 miles away!"
