ANGUS Council services are likely to be disrupted tomorrow (Wednesday) due to industrial action by Unison, GMB and Unite trade union members in connection with the national pay offer.
Information available at noon today (Tuesday) is as follows:

SCHOOLS, NURSERIES and OUT OF SCHOOL CLUBS

Monifieth High School will be closed to S1, S2, S3 and S4 pupils, but will be open for S5 and S6 pupils.

Carnoustie Hig
h School will be open to S1, S2 and S3 pupils only.

Langlands Primary School in Forfar will be open for nursery pupils only.

Arbirlot, Mattocks, Newbigging, Newtyle and Southesk nursery classes will be closed.

Out of school clubs at Seaview, Grange, Birkhill, Carlogie, Colliston, Liff, Murroes, Muirfield, Ladyloan and Inverbrothock have been cancelled (the schools will be open to pupils as normal).

School lets at Monifieth High School, and Langlands; Carlogie; Colliston; Liff; Newtyle; Inverbrothock and Murroes primaries have been cancelled.

The special needs base at Lochside Primary School in Montrose will be closed – the school and nursery will be open as usual.

Ladyloan Primary School will be closed for pupils with additional support needs

Changes to information issued previously:

Arbroath HS will be open to all pupils.

Aberlemno nursery will be open.

A spokesperson for Angus Council commented: Parents should be aware that further disruption is possible in other Angus schools, nurseries and out of school clubs but based on the information available to date most are expected to operate as usual.

"There may be disruption to the school meals service in some schools, and parents and pupils are asked to ensure they take heed of whatever alerts are flagged up by schools. It is also possible that some schools may have no alternative but to ask parents of some pupils with additional support needs to keep their children at home on Wednesday."

Further information will be issued to parents today (Tuesday) via the usual means – in school bags and using text/email alerts where available – and updates on disruption to schools will be posted on the council's website at www.angus.gov.uk as information becomes available.

SOCIAL WORK FACILITIES

The council's day centres at Rosehill in Montrose and Lilybank in Forfar will be closed
While there may be some further disruption to social work services, residential care and community meals services will operate as normal as it has been agreed with the trade unions that staff working in these essential services are exempt from strike action.

WASTE COLLECTIONS & RECYCLING CENTRES

Although some disruption to the waste collection service is anticipated, particularly in coastal areas, the council is aiming to maintain grey bin collections as far as possible, so bins should be placed at the kerbside as normal. However residents are advised that as a consequence there may be some disruption to the collection of green boxes and bins. If a bin/box is not emptied residents are asked to retrieve it from the kerbside as it will not be emptied until the next scheduled uplift.
Recycling centres in the coastal areas may be closed

LIBRARIES & MUSEUMS
All council libraries and museums will be closed to the public.

COUNCIL OFFICES
Some council offices may be affected, including the following ACCESS offices:
Carnoustie, Monifieth and Forfar ACCESS offices will be closed.
