The incident occurred over the recent holiday weekend when hooligans entered the school grounds for a suspected drinking binge and then uprooted or snapped 10 young fruit trees.
The trees were so badly damaged that they will need to be replaced
.
Mrs Angela Jameson, the Eco School co-ordinator, told the Guide & Gazette: "Everyone is so disappointed that all the hard work we put in last year has been wasted.
"Parents, children and the business community all supported our bid to plant an orchard last year and we are now faced with repeating the effort all over again.
"The school does not have the money to replace the trees but the children are determined to try and find ways to overcome this so that we can replant before Easter."

WHY? ... Glum youngsters at Grange Primary School examine the damage.
On Friday, children from the Eco council went out to assess the damage for themselves and have already decided to write to local businesses to ask for help in cash or kind to help the school replace these fruit trees.
