TWO GOLDS FOR GROVE IN SCHOOLS SWIM

THE SCOTTISH Schools' Swimming Championship Finals took place on Saturday at Tollcross Pool in Glasgow.
Twenty-six swimmers from Angus Schools joined a further a 32 swimmers from throughout Tayside to take part.

The competitors were supported by staff from the three areas within the district: Marion Durham, Angus; Drew Burnett, Dundee; and Elaine J
ohnstone from Perth and Kinross.

Grove Academy's Libby Francis won gold in the 17-19 100 and 200 metre butterfly.

Stephan Milne from Perth Academy broke the 200m backstroke record while a further nine swimmers gained podium places. Individual results were as follows.

Carnoustie HS - Louise Taylor, 17-19, 100m breaststroke, 1.17.67, 5th place; 200m breaststroke 2.53.71, 4th.

Monifieth HS - Scott Mitchell, 13-14, 100m backstroke 1.16.23, 10th.

Blair Doughty, 13-14, 200m butterfly, 2.58.36, 9th

Martin D'All, 13-14 100m freestyle, 1.08.73.

Rachel Keenan, 15-16 100m butterfly, 1.13.00.

Seaview PS - Heather Ingram, 12 and under, 50m butterfly 35.72 7th.

Grove Academy - Daisy Forster, 17-19 100m Backstroke 1.17.88 10th; 200m backstroke 2.43.99 7th.

Libby Francis, 17-19 100m butterfly, 1.07.02, gold; 200m butterfly, 2.26.72, gold.

Paul Adamson, 15-16 100m breaststroke, 1.14.46 9th; 200m breaststroke 2.43.06 8th.
