A Carnoustie veteran and his family have raised more than £22,000 in the last year for Armed Forces charities.
Kevin and Amie Ogilvie recently presented cheques totalling £22,103 to the RAF Benevolent Fund and the SSAFA following a year of dedicated fundraising.
In 2012 Kevin, then a Senior Aircraftman with the RAF Regiment was paralysed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, and it was those two charities which stepped in to help ease his recovery by supporting his wife Amie and their daughter Grace.
Events have included a midsummer ball which raised almost £7000, numerous supermarket collections and culminating in a family sky dive in April.
Kevin said: “The support given to us by both the RAF Benevolent Fund and SSAFA has been invaluable during the difficult days of my recovery. We know they will be there to support our family for as long as we need them to. The fundraising is really our way of saying ‘thank you’ for all their help.”
