THE DEVELOPMENT of a community vision for Carnoustie is underway following a meeting held in Woodlands Primary School on Wednesday.
The meeting, hosted by Angus Council’s local community planning team, saw representatives from local groups come together to look at what the key issues are in the burgh.
There was particular focus on sport and leisure, the local economy, civic pride and tourism.
There were also discussions around how best to involve as many members of the community in the process of both feeding in ideas and commenting on proposals as they are developed.
The next stage will be a public meeting which will take place on January 22 next year when ideas will be further explored within a wider audience.
It is hoped this event will attract an even greater turnout allowing a cross-community input.
The vision will identify short, medium and long term priorities which the community will work together to achieve.
