Abertay Probus report

IN WOODLANDS Hotel on Wednesday, ecologist Abbie Patterson gave Abertay Probus Club an informative illustrated talk on the Montrose Basin and its wildlife.

Covering an area of 2,529 acres the basin was created by a post-glacial storm surge, and in 1974 was designated a site of special scientific interest.

The centre is very welcoming and the 12,500 visitors per annum are able to view the many species of wading birds etc which inhabit the area.

President Michael Beattie was in the chair and David Stanley proposed a vote of thanks.
