MEMBERS of the Carnoustie Centre Action Group held their first meeting of the New Year in the Burgh Chambers on Monday when ideas for promoting the Kinloch Centre project were put forward.
Chairman Rodger Brunton told the group: “This will be the crunch year for us in taking the new build towards fruition.
“We await the results of an application to the Lottery under the heading of ‘Investing in Ideas’ which will provide funding for further work by the architects, Nicoll Russell, Broughty Ferry, and professional assistance to gather all our data and to work up a proposal for stage one of the Big Lottery Fund.”
The first event of the year is a quiz night in the Craw’s Nest Lounge on Tuesday, February 21, at 7.30 p.m. The tickets are £10 for teams of four.
The group’s annual general meeting is provisionally booked for Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the Comrie Hall. Further events are planned and possibly a corporate dinner will be held in the Golf Hotel in February of next year.
Alison Paget added: “We intend to do a more in depth re-engagement with the young people of Carnoustie through the schools and carry out surveys on areas of the town that we haven’t reached recently.”
