AN ARBROATH man will be debuting his new album next month at a special showcase evening.
Simon de Voil will be joined by Rebecca Wright at the Rosely Hotel on Saturday, October 1, for the first live performance of their new album, ‘The Boat Builder’.
Simon has travelled extensively, searching for inspiration for his work, his first album ‘Sacred Earth’ was inspired by his time in Iona.
Of his new album he said: “Nursing a grieving heart, I travelled to America to learn to build wooden boats, and in the process, began to rebuild myself and allow love and light back into my life.”
‘The Boat Builder’ is a moving collection of songs reflecting this journey and features Simon on vocals, piano and guitar and Rebecca on cello and vocals.
Rebecca, originally from the Sunshine Coast in Australia, an established singer-songwriter in her own right has been touring extensively and will also share some of her own music at the evening.
The show begins at 7.30 p.m. and tickets can be bought at the door for £4. For more information visit www.simondevoil.co.uk or www.rebeccawright.com.au.
