X-Factor are concerned they are missing out on top class talent and are foraying to the East coast to give you a chance to show them what you’ve got.
The team of casting agents are heading to the Overgate Shopping Centre in Dundee to hold open auditions for the X Factor on Wednesday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Casting researcher Sophie Brown said: “We are really excited about coming and are hoping to see as lots of people from Dundee, Angus and the surrounding areas.
“We’ve got the main auditions in large stadiums across the country but we don’t reach this area.
“We are trying to save people the expense of going to Glasgow by bringing the mobile audition pod to the Overgate.”
People are advised to arrive early as it will be first come, first served.
The audition will be filmed, not for broadcast, and the casting researchers will then make a decision after watching them back.
“Come in full of life, show us your personality and that you’ve got the X Factor,” advised Sophie.
“The only rules are, you have to be over 16 years old and sing acapella with no backing track.”
The X Factor creator Simon Cowell added: “The X Factor is coming back and, if you think you have the potential to be a world-class star, this is your chance to prove it.
“You really could be the next pop superstar.”
The hit show, which this year won a National Television Award for Best Talent Show, has uncovered some outstanding talent across the years, including last year’s winner Ben Haenow, who has achieved a number 1 selling single in the UK and is now in the studio working on his debut album.
To date One Direction, have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, Olly Murs has achieved double platinum success, Little Mix have sold 1.3 million albums and Ella Henderson had the fastest selling UK female single debut of the year with Ghost.
