This autumn the Discovery Film Festival returns to the DCA in Dundee with another three weekends of top films for young audiences, including some UK premieres.
The festival, which has won awards for its youth programming, has grown since its launch in 2004 to become one of the largest events of its kind in Scotland. The celebrations begin on Sat 25 October with the Scottish Premiere of ‘Antboy’, a Danish film that celebrates the world of comic book heroes and villains. The festival runs until Sunday, November 9. This year’s festival highlights includes a selections of shorts for Wee Ones and Middle Ones (various screenings); and a beautiful, colourful animation in A Boy and the World (Sun 9 November). There is action packed adventures with fun films Fiddlesticks (Sat 8 November) andZip & Zap (Sat 1 November); the perfect escape for teenagers with stories of growing up, in 1987 (Sun 9 November), Sitting Next to Zoe (Sat 8 November), Windstorm (Sun 26 October) and Geography Club (Sun 2 November); immerse in emotional stories like The Custody (Sat 1 November) and Giovanni’s Island (Sun 9 November); or documentaries Beyond Clueless (Sun 2 November) and On the Way to School (Sun 2 November).
