THE ANNUAL inspection and presentation evening of the Monifieth Company St Andrew’s First Aid was held on Monday at The Scout Hall, Boyack Centre, Monifieth.
The guests included Mr and Mrs Tom Cairns, Mrs Judith Child, honorary commandant of the Monifieth Company, and family and friends of class and company members.
The First Year Cup was won by Darren Carver and the Judith Child Quaich was awarded to Bruce Ramsay. The Edward Traynor Trophy was won by David Melville. The Centenary Quaich was awarded to Seonaid McGurk. The Junior Cup was awarded to Ben Ramsay and the Special Award went to Katie Ramsay.
Standard First Aid Certificates were presented to Darren Carver, Alistair Merry, Sheelagh Pattie, Bruce Ramsay, Catriona Ingram, Amy Morton, Wendy Burnett and Glenn Burnett.
Junior First Aid Certificates went to Ben Ramsay, Ellie Burnett, Katie Ramsay, Kirsty Melville and Anya Uchman.
It has been a busy year for the Monifieth Company. The members have attended a wide variety of duties including beach cleans, local community events, gymkhanas, cycling events, football, Olympic celebration events, hockey, rugby, local theatre shows, open air music festivals and Christmas light switch ons.
Training in ‘moving and handling’ and operating the ‘automated external defibrillator’ has also been ongoing.
Four members also completed an abseil from the Tower Block of Dundee University last August to raise funds for St Andrew’s First Aid.
