Stewart Hosie, MP for Dundee East, is encouraging local environmental groups in the Dundee and Angus area to apply for a share of the £1.5 million available from the Postcode Local Trust fund.
Postcode Local Trust - a grant-giving charity funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery - has opened its latest funding round and the deadline for applications is Friday, September 30, at 5pm.
The kind of projects that are likely to be funded will improve local ecology and habitats, encourage bio-diversity and benefit the wider environment. Groups can apply for funding ranging from £500 - £20,000.
The local MP is encouraging interested organisations across his constituency to apply for funding by visiting the website at: www.postcodelocaltrust.org.uk
Mr Hosie commented: “This is an exciting prospect for all local environmental groups that are in need of a boost and I’d urge them to get their applications in before the deadline.
“All local organisations should take advantage of this funding which could be the catalyst for getting their projects up and running.”
Rebecca Whitley, Trust Manager of Postcode Local Trust, added: “We had such an amazing response to the first funding round earlier this year and it’s incredible to think players of People’s Postcode Lottery have supported almost 200 projects in this category already. We really hope to repeat the success of the previous round and we’d love to hear from the many grassroots initiatives that have exciting projects in the pipeline.”
