A former Royal Marine Commando organised a memorial service at the weekend for casualties of one of the largest naval battles of the 20th century.
Kevin Smith, formerly of 45 Commando arranged the service yesterday (Sunday) to commemorate those lost in the Battle of Jutland during World War One. Attending the memorial service at Arbroath Harbour were Angus Provost Councillor Helen Oswald, Captain (Honorary) Earl of Dalhousie, as well as veterans from various branches of the Armed Forces.
The service was conducted by Rev. Peter Mead, of St Mary’s Church and former padre of aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious.
