Carnoustie Library played host to author Andrew Murray Scott on Monday who gave an illustrated talk ‘Dundee Since The War, City Life Old And New’.
He reflected on familiar landmarks and aspects of city life lost over the past seven decades and some of the new landscapes which have replaced them.
The talk was organised under the auspices of Angus Heritage Week by ANGUSalive and supported by the Scottish Book Trust and he is due to give a similar talk at Forfar Library tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2pm. Admission is free.
Andrew is the author of several local history titles including ‘Modern Dundee’, ‘Discovering Dundee’ and ‘The Wee Book of Dundee’ as well as the author of several novels.
Commenting after the talk, Andrew said: “It seemed to go quite well. I was pleased to have interesting questions and contributions from the 30 or so who attended, some of whom had been brought up in Dundee. I always learn something from these events.”
