CARNOUSTIE High School yet again swept the boards at Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships presented by the Scottish Brass Band Association.
The championships took place at the Howden Park Centre in Livingston and attracted brass bands from all over the country.
Taking the prize in the top award of Youth Solo Champion was the High School’s Chris Robertson who impressed with his euphonium performance in the youth section.
And making it a Carnoustie top two, fellow euphonium player Chris Flynn grabbed a well deserved second place.
The brass ensemble caught the judge’s attention and won themselves a third place in the Intermediate Ensembles section.
Jordan Robertson impressed further with her trombone solo and added to the prize hoard with a further third place in the Intermediate Solo section.
And to finish off the weekend event on a high, Liam McKay performed a breathtaking xylophone solo in the Open Percussion section and bagged a further trophy for Carnoustie becoming the Scottish Open Percussion Solo Champion.
Overall it was memorable weekend indeed for these young talented musicians.
