AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by a high street bank after the front door of their Carnoustie branch proved less than secure last week. The problem was discovered at the High Street branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland last Sunday by a member of the public, who inadvertently opened the door while leaning against it.
A spokesperson for Tayside Police confirmed they were aware of the situation, she said: “We received a report of an alarm activation at around 8.30 a.m. in the morning.”
A spokesperson for the Royal Bank of Scotland confirmed that an investigation was underway into what happened and stressed the bank itself had not been entered.
She said: “They didn’t get into the bank, it wasn’t the main doors, it was the outer doors. We’re glad nobody was hurt and the alarm operated as it should.”
