A LONG-STANDING Carnoustie Boys’ Brigade member has been honoured for his service.
Tom Scott, a former lieutenant and captain of the 1st Carnoustie Company, and latterly a committee member, recently made the decision to step down after 36 years.
In recognition of this, it was decided by the committee to make him the company’s first honorary member.
Current company captain Neil Russell said: “Over the years Tom has been an excellent servant of the 1st Carnoustie and a first class ambassador of the Boys’ Brigade in general.
“As one of the original hall trustees he was instrumental in arranging the purchase of the current premises in September, 1989, thereby securing premises for the company for future generations.
“He consistently discharged his responsibilities in a firm but fair manner and was always very modest in accepting rightful praise for his considerable achievements.”
