Big turnout for BID discussion

There was a good turnout for the latest meeting last night (Monday) on the proposed Business Improvement District for Carnoustie.

According to organisers of the ‘Connecting Carnoustie’ project over 30 business owners attended the meeting in the Carnoustie Golf Hotel where attendees were presented with more in depth information on the nature of the BID process and also discussed some of the suggestions that have already been put forward for the outline business plan.

Recently appointed BID consultant Neil Cooney and Peter Burke, interim chair of the ‘Connecting Carnoustie’ steering committee, stressed that this was the only beginning of the journey; many more surveys and consultations would take place before further draft plans were created, and eventually – hopefully before the end of the year - the final business plan on which business owners included within the BID area would vote.

The evening closed with a lively question and answer session, and attendees left with a full and detailed understanding of the process and the next steps for ‘Connecting Carnoustie’.
