Biggest display yet!

The annual Carnoustie bonfire and torchlit parade is set to take place tomorrow (Saturday) night.

The parade will leave Woodlands Primary School on Queen Street at 6.30 p.m., before making its way to the Black Slab.

Here the yearly bonfire and fireworks display, organised by Carnoustie Coastguard will begin.

This year, the Coastguard is promising one of their biggest displays ever thanks to a huge collection at last year, which helped to pay for this year’s event.

Lindsay Martin from the Coastguard said: “In the 30 years we have been doing this, it will be our biggest one yet.

“It would be great if we could get as many people down to the Black Slab as possible and hope for good weather, no wind and lots of donations.”

As well as the display and bonfire, there will also be a carnival visiting.

Tomorrow morning, the judging of the Guy competition will take place in the Philip Hall at 10.30 a.m.

And organisers say there will be prizes for both junior and adult winners with the contest open to all local clubs and organisations.
