Biker dies after road crash

A 34-YEAR-OLD man who died from injuries sustained in a serious road collision on the Arbroath to Brechin road on Wednesday has been named by police

Roland Bentley of Arbirlot, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Corsa around 3 p.m. at the Glasterlaw junction on the A933 near to Friockheim.

His family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.

They do not wish to make any further comment and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

The bike was also carrying a 33-year-old passenger, while the driver of the Corsa was a 73-year-old man. They were both injured.

Two of the casualties were conveyed from the scene to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by helicopter but unfortunately the rider of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.

The road was closed for some time while police crash investigators were at the scene and enquiries are said to be continuing.

A report has also been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
