Brenda Ross held her fourth charity ball at the Woodlands Hotel, Broughty Ferry, on Friday to raise cash for CHAS.

The ball also featured a fund-raising auction and raffle and music by Montrose band, ‘Mandate’. It was attended by over 160 people.

Brenda, who works at Angus College, said she and her band of Ball Babe helpers were delighted at the success of yet another event which this year realised about £11,000. This makes the grand total raised over the four balls about £42,000.

Brenda commented: “As countless people and organisations contributed towards the night it would be impossible to mention them all, however there are a few to get special mention. They are Peter Cochrane and Elizabeth for sponsoring the band, ‘Mandate’; RSB MacDonald and Thorntons Solicitors for the wine; Paul Grant, Mackays, for the ‘bubbly’ reception; Teddy Bear Nursery Club for the floral decorations; Abbey Fruit for sponsorship and strawberries; and SG Baker, Brewin Dolphin, DM Hall and Connelly & Yeoman for sponsorship.

“An important thanks goes to my Ball Babes who are always there for me. They are Angie Gatford, Angie Morrison, Lesley McDonald, Kay Gilmour, Lisa Simpson and Rona Valentine.”
