The cast of the panto at the Webster Memorial Theatre this year are looking forward to plenty of boos, but in a good way!
‘Babes In The Woods’ by MJ Cox Productions in association with Angus Council opens on Monday and according to evil Auntie Brenda and Old Uncle Jim is one not to be missed!
Floss Ross, a panto villain veteran of 10 years, explained: “I’m looking forward to scaring as many people as possible, I hope they’ll all be responsive and give me lots of boos.
“I think it’s the best part and I enjoy playing the baddie. You find if the audience give you lots you can respond to them.”
Callum Cuthbertson, from ‘Gary: Tank Commander’ added: “It’s hard graft. Generally it’s the audience that keeps you going when you get a great response from the kids you forget about the tiredness. When you get a good response from the audience that’s the whole reason for you being there.”
Mark Cox, ‘Still Game’, who plays reluctant hero and playboy hairdresser Carlos, has been delighted with the public reaction to the upcoming panto.
He said: “I think there has been a good response from the public, we’ve tried to spread our wings a bit and the Squirrel has been out flyering in Dundee.”
There is even a special competition on offer for audience members, with every ticket buyer entered into a prize draw for two rare tickets to see the ‘Still Game Live Show’ at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The winners will be notified by a personal call from Nosey Isa (Jane McCarry) herself!
