Broughty Ferry RNLI crews were called out this morning after a report of a yacht upturning and throwing people into the water.

The crews were alerted at 9.27am to the incident approximately one mile west of Tay Road Bridge.

The volunteer lifeboat crew with the assistance of a volunteer shore crew launched the inshore lifeboat at 9.37am.

However, the lifeboat crew could not find any upturned vessels.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “We approached a yacht off Wormit whose crew said it was them who had been in trouble but they had managed to right the boat and all was now well.”
