July is continuing to be a busy month for Broughty Ferry RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews with no fewer than seven call outs so far this month.
Four of these calls required both of the station’s lifeboats to respond.
The latest call was yesterday (Tuesday) for report of a dinghy that had lost power near to Broughty Castle.
The RNLI volunteer crews received the call at 4.30pm, and with the assistance of a volunteer shore crew deployed the inshore lifeboat some three minutes later.
Following the short trip to the scene, it was found that the owner of the dinghy had the situation under control and had rowed back to the shore without any problems.
The crew were satisfied with the outcome of the incident and had returned to station by 4.50pm.
