Bursary available

THE MONIFIETH branch of a restaurant and pub chain announced this week the search was on for local heroes.

The Monifieth Farm Brewers Fayre at Ethiebeaton Park announced its participation in the 2012 Local Heroes initiative which supports unsung community heroes through a bursary scheme.

Local Heroes could be people who constantly fund-raise for charity, run their local Neighbourhood Watch, or coach junior football out of the goodness of their hearts.

Nominees will be in with a chance to receive a share of a £10,000 pot which will be invested in continuing their community project.

Nomination forms are available from the Monifieth Farm or online at www.brewersfayre.co.uk/localheroes and should be submitted before November 11.

Spokesperson for Brewers Fayre, Emma Price, said: “Previous awards allowed us to support some very worthy winners and we can’t wait to do the same again this year.

“It’s so important to recognise those people around the UK who devote their own time to helping good causes.

“The Brewers Fayre Local Heroes bursary is intended to ensure that the fantastic work they are doing can continue for many years to come.”
