LIBERAL Democrat MSP Alison McInnes is urging coastal communities to apply for a share of a multi-million pound fund designed to support economic development.
The Coastal Community Funding (CCF) will assist a wide range of projects such as those that support charities, improve skills or safeguard the environment. Projects are chosen on their ability to support sustainable growth and jobs in coastal communities. There were 19 successful bids across Scotland last year.
Mrs McInnes, Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP for the North East, said: “The UK Government has announced that more than £4 million will be available for projects in Scotland in the second round of the fund. I do not want the North East to miss out.
“I welcome the announcement by Lib Dem Danny Alexander MP, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The wide variety of projects that received funding last year is testament to the innovation shown by Scotland’s coastal communities.”
