RUMOURS that Carnoustie’s premier hotel would soon be changing hands have been confirmed as true.
On Friday the Guide & Gazette aired suggestions that the Carnoustie Golf Hotel owned by Oxford Hotels and Inns was in the process of changing hands.
It was confirmed today (Monday) that London-based Bespoke Hotels has taken on the management of 34 additional hotels, including the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.
These properties will join Bespoke’s existing sub-brands Beloved, which features a collection of four star deluxe hotels and Befriend, a selection of three star value-for-money options.
The chief executive officer of Bespoke Hotels, Haydn Fentum said: “We are delighted to welcome Oxford Hotels and Inns’ fine collection of properties to the Bespoke Hotels group in the UK.
“From beautiful country pubs and inns to luxury hotels and character properties throughout England and Scotland, each has its own story to tell and we will build on their individuality to deliver great value for money and service for our guests.
“Boasting one of the country’s top three golf courses, The Carnoustie Golf Hotel is a truly unique addition to the Bespoke Hotels portfolio.”
Mark Edwards, managing director, Oxford Hotels and Inns, said: “By combining our strengths we’ll have an unrivalled collection of unique hotels and inns across the UK. There are already a lot of synergies across the two hotel groups; both have an eclectic mix of properties all of which thrive on having their own bespoke style and individual character.”
Since its conception in 2000, Bespoke Hotels has grown primarily through management of hotels, resulting in a collection of 97 stylish hotels across the UK, Europe, Far East and the Caribbean.
