ANGUS Council has awarded 13 grants totalling £31,430 in the latest round of allocations from the community grant scheme.
Local organisations which have benefited include the following: £402 – Heritage Arts, Auchmithie residents, towards the costs of a heritage garden and archive project: £300 – Bell Rock Audio Visual Enterprise, towards advertising costs for Bell Rock Blues Festival: ·£500 – Monifieth Bowling Club, towards purchase of junior bowls: £1,042 – Carnoustie and District Horticultural Society, towards the costs of staging and advertising their annual show: and £5,000 – Arbroath Sea Fest, towards the cost of this year’s event.
Commenting on the grants, infrastructure services committee convener, Councillor David May, said: “The organisations who received grants in this round of allocations are involved in a very broad range of activities and are each making a big difference to people from all walks of life and across all age groups.
“I am delighted that the council is continuing to support organisations across Angus to fulfil their ambition through the community grant scheme and I would urge any group seeking funding to consider applying for a grant.”
