ANGUS companies are being urged to take up the offer of a free promotional opportunity from Angus Council.

The council’s economic development division is sending out over 3000 questionnaires to companies in the county seeking information on their business.

The survey will be used to update company information held by the division and to help it accurately analyse the performance of the local economy.

The survey will also help to inform companies of council services and of any grants, courses, exhibitions or export opportunities that may be of interest.

In addition to this, the information received will be used to promote the goods and services offered by local firms nationally and internationally.

Companies who reply to the survey will be given a free listing in the online Angus Business Directory within www.angusahead.com. Companies with existing entries can have their information updated.

The council’s spokesperson on economic development Councillor Mairi Evans said: “I am pleased that in these difficult financial times, the council is offering Angus companies an opportunity to promote their businesses and access a range of growth opportunities.

“With thousands of visits per month from countries around the world, a listing on angusahead.com provides a vital and free publicity resource to help businesses and I would urge Angus companies to sign up.”

Being on the angusahead site can also help businesses gain increased exposure and publicity through a number of opportunities, including taking part in joint promotions, becoming a site sponsor, and submitting press releases and good news stories.

The Angus Portal is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the East of Scotland Objective 2 Programme.

Any company which does not receive a questionnaire, and would like one, or would like more information, can contact Wilma Gordon, development officer, on 01307 473284 or email gordonw@angus.gov.uk.
