External drinking area for pub

Earlier this week permission was granted by Angus Council to The Corn Exchange for the implementation of an outdoor drinking area.

The Market Place pub, which is owned by JD Wetherspoon PLC, was given permission by the authority’s development standards committee in Forfar on Tuesday.

The plan allows for four tables and 16 chairs to be contained by loose planters and moveable vinyl barriers.

Suggestions that this would impact on vehicle access for deliveries to the businesses in Market Place were addressed by council officers and found to be within acceptable parameters.
