A planning application has been submitted to Angus Council for a 350-home housing development on the outskirts of Carnoustie.

The proposal was lodged with the authority’s planning department earlier this month by Ristol Consulting Ltd on behalf of Angus Estate Ltd and Muir Homes.

It provides for a total of 350 homes and ancillary development.

The homes would be a mix, including market, affordable housing, self-build and retired, and would have accompanying access roads, paths and other infrastructure.

A site has been identified to the west of Carlogie Road and north of Newton Road on which the approximately 350 homes could be built.

Consent has previously been granted for a business park north of the proposed development which is also being driven by Angus Estates.

It is understood that a presentation will be made to Carnoustie Community Council.

A full public presentation will also be made at some point next month with dates and times to be confirmed in due course.

Itis likely to be held in St Brides Hall on the corner of Maule Street and Carlogie Road.

A number of developments have been proposed recently for Carnoustie, including housing at Pitskelly as well as industrial units.
