ANGUS Council is seeking the views of members of the public to help with its review of the conditions to be applied to taxi and private hire car licences and the drivers of these vehicles.
The council’s civic licensing committee recently agreed to the review which will cover a wide range of regulations and checklists.
A number of groups will be consulted in the review process, including Tayside Police, members of Angus Council and appropriate council officers, every current holder of a taxi/private hire car licence and taxi/private hire car drivers licence, and any organisation thought to be representative of the holders of taxi/private hire car licences.
Councillor Ian Mackintosh, convener of the civic licensing committee said: “I hope members of the public will give us their views on the conditions for taxi drivers and their vehicles as we are keen to hear their comments as we undertake this review.
“Views can be posted on the ‘Have Your Say ‘section of the council’s website at http://www.angus.gov.uk/bestvalue/consultation/documents.cfm?myRef=571 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. The review process will be open until July 31.”
