World trade award for Arbroath firm

An Arbroath packaging firm has won a prestigious worldwide trade award for the quality of its presentation products.

Armstrong Packaging Limited, Kirkton Enterprise Park, was told in July by industry leader Eska Graphic Board that not only had it won first prize for the exceptional quality of their end products in the northern, western and eastern European categories, but also the worldwide category.

As a prize they were presented with a bronze sculpture by renowned Catalan artist Xavier Cuenca.

The winning presentation box was for a bottle of the Jura Distillery’s 30 year old single malt Scotch whisky.

Chief executive of Eska Graphic Board and competition judge Kees van Zijderveld described it as: “A beautifully made box, of solid construction and with an exquisite finish, with a classic and luxury look and feel showing creativity, craftsmanship and an eye for detail.”

Armstrong employs 100 people in the manufacture of high quality rigid presentation boxes for premium Scottish whisky brands.

Dutch firm Eska Graphic Board is a worldwide supplier of paperboard, which is a significant component of Armstrong’s product.

Angus Thomson, a director at Armstrong Packaging Limited was delighted.
